I like Victoria because she's mischevious, funny and nice "sometimes". In 1888 they didn't have cars, buses or trams.They had horses, carraiges and steam trains. It's very different now but it helps me imagine what it would be like in 1888.

My favourite character is colum because he has a good responsibillity by saving his friends house from being kicked out.then he wanted to own more money.Later on he signed in to a bet however they didnt earn money.finallythey actually drove all the way to the brickpits.

My favourite character is Bertie because he let the front room to miss walkley from church and he has a good goat,his goat's name is Gertie the goat.His story was about how he want's to be a magican.There was the 1st world war in Australia then and people felt sad.

My favourite character is Sam (1798) because he is a hard worker a good boy. The society that he lived in was a small neighbourhood, consisting only of wooden buildings and a lake. Not forgetting about the Big Tree. .-----. Approved

I like Bridie because she likes to sneak on her sister and her sisters friend.Her society tells me in that time there wasn't any life savers to save them from drowning in the canal

Wow 4J look my Aunty Kerry (Mrs Claire's sister!) has commented on our blog! She lives in a place called Sandy Beach which is a bit north of Coffs Harbour. Maybe we could ask her some questions about where she lives and what her life was like when she was a child?

Wow! You all have such great things to say about the characters in your book. There's a lot going on in the story and you all have found so much to talk about. As far as going back in time, I think I'm with Ishan when he says he likes it when there were toilets! But definitely not war - wars are always heartbreaking. Keep on talking 4J
